Arsenal open contract talks with Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal have recently opened contract talks with Gabriel Martinelli, looking to improve his terms after his impressive form for the team.

Mark Mann-Bryans reports that contract talks with Gabriel Martinelli are on, with Arsenal offering the winger much-improved terms.

The new deal is viewed as a reward for Martinelli’s good form, considering he still has plenty of time on his current deal.

Though the Brazilian international’s contract technically expires in 2024, Arsenal have an option to extend by a further year. He’s not in the same situation as players like Bukayo Saka or William Saliba, whose contract extensions are more urgent.

But if the player is happy and performing well, it seems like a good opportunity to try and extend his deal.

Arsenal protect the value of one of their exciting young players, and Martinelli gets a nice boost to his wages and another show of confidence in him from the club.

Martinelli has always been positive about Arsenal and suggested he’s open to further contract extensions.

Earlier this year, the winger told the media that if he can, he’ll stay at the club for his whole life.

Since then, Arsenal have handed him the number 11 shirt, and he’s made a strong start to the new campaign. The time feels right for further contract talks.
