Mikel Arteta has ruled out Joe Willock leaving the club this summer and says the midfielder will return to Arsenal following his loan spell at Newcastle.

The England u21 international scored for the sixth consecutive Premier League fixture during Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Wednesday, becoming the youngest ever player to achieve the feat.
Steve Bruce has spoken of his desire to keep the youngster at St James’ Park beyond the end of the season, with Willock having made just two league starts during the current campaign for Arsenal before his mid-season move.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal‘s final day clash with Brighton, Arteta has spoken on Willock’s future and has suggested the midfielder will be a part of the Gunners’ plans for next season.
“He has a contract and is going to be here, that’s for sure,” Arteta told his pre-match press conference.
“I am really happy things have gone so well for him because of the potential Joe has. It was great for him to go away and have a different experience.
“He has grabbed that opportunity in a really positive and remarkable way, and he will be back with us. We will have those conversations with him and plan the next few years with him.”
