Ornstein says Arsenal are determined to keep trusting Arteta.
He adds that the board think he deserves another attempt to prove himself after the summer transfer campaign.
“I think Arsenal continue to back Mikel Arteta, I certainly have heard no suggestions to the contrary,” David Ornstein said on Sky Sports.
“It is clear that the pressure is on him, and is on many people at Arsenal. “There are an increasing number of fans who are turning against him. He’s certainly not faultless.
“But Arsenal seem to think that Arteta is part of the solution not a key part of the problem and there is a lot else that needs to change at the club.
“I think it would be fair on Mikel Arteta, in the view of the Arsenal hierarchy, to allow him this summer transfer window and longer to prove he can be a success at Arsenal so I don’t think his position is under threat.”
There are serious questions to Arteta if he can really lead the club forward after the Europa League elimination. In the Premier League, the Gunners are stuck in the middle of the table and are likely to miss out on Europe next season.
Mikel himself still believes that he can achieve success with Arsenal.
