We want to go next level: Arsenal boss Arteta on summer window

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits they face a massive summer transfer market.

With his charges floundering in the Europa League and adrift of the European spots in the top-flight, it looks as though Arsenal will have to spend big.

“I’ve been really encouraged,” Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports of the club’s transfer plans. “I feel really positive about what we are going to do.”

Could the upcoming summer be the most important transfer window in years?

“Yes,” the boss replied. “Because a lot of things have happened in the last few transfer windows. There are a lot of players in various situations.

“It’s crucial. We want to go to the next level and there are a lot of things we need to do to get there.”

The boss has also laid stress on the importance of finishing the season strongly.

“I’m really focused on what we have to do now: finish the season as strongly as possible and try to get into that final, which is going to be key for us.

“Where we want to get to will depend on a lot of things; how we end the season, where we end up, what ability and prospects we’ll have for next season. Everything is a reflection of what happens now.”

According to David Ornstein, there are 6 players who are likely to be sold to raise cash for the upcoming campaign.

“A lot of things have happened in the last few transfer windows,” said Arteta.
