Despite the the poor performance Arsenal managed to get an all important away goal through Pepe penalty.
Here are the ratings:
Bernd Leno – 6.8
Can’t blame him for the goals and pulled off a great save that kept Arsenal in the game.
Calum Chambers – 5.2
Very average performance by the Englishman.
Pablo Mari – 5.0
Poor display by the Spaniard. He looked nervy for most of the night and was at fault for the first goal.
Rob Holding – 5.2
Bad defending for their second goal and he did not look very assured at the back.
Granit Xhaka – 5.6
Samuel Chukwueze had a field day ageist him. He is not a left back.
Thomas Partey – 6.4
He needed a better partner than Ceballos in the middle of the park. Still tried to do his job admirably.
Dani Ceballos – 4.6
He let the team down once again and he should’ve been replaced at the break. He is too weak and erratic.
Bukayo Saka – 7.3
By far the best Arsenal player once again. He earned the penalty that keeps us in the tie. He wasn’t afraid to take the game to the hosts.
Martin Odegaard – 5.3
This was one of his worst performances for Arsenal. He didn’t look match fit.
Emile Smith Rowe – 6.1
Did well in an unfamiliar position but could not influence the game due to underperforming teammates
Nicolas Pepe – 6.7
Slotted the all important penalty coolly and he was a treat to opposing defence.
