Player Ratings: Arsenal 0-1 Everton – Leno gets 4.5 after an awful howler

Another very tight and unfair VAR decision and an another individual error cost Arsenal the points against the Toffees.

Leno – 4.5

Concede a goal like that is just inexcusable. Arsenal need a better GK if they were to challenge for the top.

Chambers – 6.3

I just cannot understand playing him as our 1st choice right back when we have 2 out and out RBs sitting on the bench. He tries his best and defensively solid but haven’t got the ability to work that right hand channel as well as a proper fullback.

Mari – 6.9

Looked calm and stayed composed. did not put a foot wrong throughout but should stop with tightening his arms behind every time when facing an opponent.

Holding – 6.2

He was not as commanding as usual but was solid enough.

Xhaka – 5.6

Tidy on the ball but does not do the things required from a fullback such as bombing forward to support attackers when we have the ball.

Partey – 6.1

He resorted to playing easy and safe whereas he is capable of so much more.

Cabelos – 6.8

Involved and busy the whole game but could not create much. He tried his best.

Smith Rowe – 6.2

Struggled to impose his game during his time on the pitch but not for trying.

Saka – 6.5

He game struggled to reach the standards of recent matches as he Digne made things difficult for him.

Pepe – 7.1

Pepe was the most dangerous player for Arsenal on the night and was constant menace for Everton defence.

Nketiah – 5.3

I can’t fault his work ethic but this was another toothless performance from the front man.

Subs: Odegaard – 6.2, Martinelli – 7.0, Willian – 6.0
