Josh Kroenke really felt the full force of the Arsenal fans there who did not let him or KSE off the hook for their actions over the past few days.
Here is the highlights:
Vinai kicks things off
The meeting is up and running after a long delay and it has begun with Vinai Venkatesham apologising to the club’s fans for the board’s actions. Vinai Venkatesham goes on to say that contrary to media reporting Arsenal were not the creators of the ESL and in fact one of the last to join.
Josh starts to speak
Josh Kroenke has echoed Vinai’s words apologising to fans and saying that the ESL was going to launch whether or not Arsenal joined. “We asked ourselves, what is worse : ESL, or ESL without Arsenal? Also asked ourselves what do the fans want? The global fan wants AFC v Barca as often as possible. English fans want to see more big matches, but you still want your cold nights in Stoke. We got it wrong“
Josh Kroenke also has confirmed that KSE will pay the fees incurred for their withdrawal from the ESL.
Powerful questions coming in
Arsenal Suppoters Trust’s Akhil Vyas has thrown a brutal question Josh Kroenke’s way
“Do you not understand English football,” he says. “You do not interact with fans, you have no clue, English football is clearly not for you, you should leave”
I believe in in fan representation on the board, this has been an education on the power of Arsenal fans.
Josh Kroenke also has said that the COVID-19 pandemic is the reason that he and his father have not been able to engage with fans.
He said “We believe we are fit to go forward with Arsenal, we were put in a difficult situation by sources outside the Club.”
Kroenke on his future plans for Arsenal
I want to get back to London, I want to do this. I am aware we never had trust, we need to build a bridge, we will. “We believe we are fit to go forward with Arsenal, we were put in a difficult situation by sources outside the Club.”
Josh Kroenke says he has plans to attend more supporters events including fans forums and has no intention to sell!!
