Arsenal fans descend on the Emirates demanding the exit of Stan Kroenke due to ESL involvement

There’s no doubt that it’s been a grim week for football, but it’s probably the first time that something has united the fans against businessmen purely trying to use football to make a profit.

One of the more galling moments came amid claims of fans being seen as “legacy fans”, and it looked like the clubs were trying to focus on fans of the future.

That almost makes huge football clubs sound like some kind of pub where new owners have decided they want to kick out the previous punters and bring in their own clientele, but they’ve also underestimated just how much football means to everyone in the country.

Protests are well underway in many locations and you have to think they will continue, but here’s some of the scenes outside the Emirates as fans arrived to make their feelings clear:
