Huge chance’ 26yo will leave Arsenal says Fabrizio Romano

There’s a high likelihood Hector Bellerin will leave Arsenal this summer, but the club won’t let him go on the cheap, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Fabrizio Romano reports that there are ‘huge chances’ that Hector Bellerin leaves Arsenal in the summer. Whilst Bellerin has been linked with PSG in the past, Romano insists it’s now an open race, with Arsenal unwilling to budge on their valuation of him.

Other than PSG, the primary club to be linked with Bellerin in the last 12 months is FC Barcelona. There were claims that Joan Laporta would push to sign the player if elected as club president – which he was.

For the record, it seems that Arsenal aren’t currently likely to replace Bellerin with Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey. They’ve scouted him in the past, but Romano claims that right now there’s no activity on that front.

Lamptey is out until the end of the season with a hamstring injury anyway. He had to have surgery on the problem, and though it was successful, Lamptey’s best hope for the remainder of the campaign is a return to training.

Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi is the other player the media are linking to Arsenal at the moment, if Bellerin leaves.

But it’s probably too early to really assess that move, particularly as we don’t know whether there will be reasonable bids for Bellerin, and we won’t have any idea what Arsenal’s budget will look like until we know how they finish the season.
