Player Ratings: Arsenal v Olympiakos

After the North London Derby, the spirit was high within the camp ahead of hosting Olympiacos at the Emirates for the Europa League Round of 16 return leg fixture, however, the Gunners survived a second-half scare and made it through to the quarterfinals on aggregate (3-2) despite losing 1-0.

Here are how Arsenal players rated in their disappointing defeat against Olympiacos.

Bernd Leno: 6.8

Made a big save early into the game to deny Youssef El-Arabi. Did not have much to do for the rest of the game.

Hector Bellerin: 6.4

The Spaniard had a good game as he kept on making overlapping runs and linking up with Pepe in the attacking third. Got replaced by Calum Chambers with 10 minutes remaining.

David Luiz: 5.9

Not one of his better games as he struggled against El-Arabi.

Gabriel: 7.1

He kept the defence together. He was strong in the air, also made some no-nonsense and important clearances.

Kieran Tierney: 6.6

The Scotsman was solid defensively and looked dangerous going forward but got tired towards the later stages of the game. He needs a rest!

Mohamed Elneny: 6.3

His usual steady 6/6.5 out 10 performance but the Egyptian lacked the creative spark and slowed down the tempo. He got replaced by Thomas Partey minutes before the hour mark.

Granit Xhaka: 7.2

Another good all-round midfield performance from Swiss international. Just needed to influence the proceeding more to get MOTM

Nicolas Pepe: 5.8

Failed to impress. He was weak in challenges and did not provide enough in dangerous areas.

Dani Ceballos: 5.1

Started well but yet another mistake high up the pitch allowed the visitors to break and find the target minutes into the second half. Not good enough unfortunately. He was taken off to be replaced by Martin Odegaard moments after conceding.

Emile Smith Rowe: 6.2

His work ethic and energetic display was to a high standard. However, runout of ideas with time and was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli late in the match.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 5.8

Missed the best chance we had in the first half as he fired it over from a promising position and wasted a golden opportunity to equalize in the dying minutes of the game.

Arsenal Substitutes Vs Olympiacos

Martin Odegaard: 7.2

Had an instant impact in the game with his vision and skill. This boy can play!

Thomas Partey: 7.1

Calmed things down in the middle of the park with his work rate and physical presence. That was what the doctors had ordered at that stage of the game.

Calum Chambers: NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.

Gabriel Martinelli: NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.
