Player ratings: Burnley 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal dropped points against Burnley in a game that they should have won.

Granit Xhaka was the culprit whose pass went straight to the body of Chris Woods for Burnley’s equaliser after Aubameyang had put Arsenal ahead.

Bernd Leno – 6.5

He should have cleared his lines instead of trusting Xhaka for Burnley’s goal. But made some good saves to redeem himself.

Calum Chambers – 6

He did well for his first start after being out for a long period through injury. Solid defensively but needs to contribute more when attacking.

David Luiz – 6.5

Steady as he needs to be.

Pablo Mari – 6

He gets the job done with minimal fuss.

Kieran Tierney – 6

Average performance for the standards he put himself.

Thomas Partey – 7.5

He was the best Arsenal player on the pitch.

Granit Xhaka – 4

He needs the stop costing Arsenal points with his infamous lapses of concentration.

Bukayo Saka – 6

Off day for the the young man but still tried to help his team with his work rate.

Martin Odegaard – 5.5

He tried but failed to influence the game.

Willian – 6.5

He did well and set up the the captain for the goal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 6.5

Scored a great gaol again and set up Saka for what should have been a game clincher but faded as the game wore off.


Alexandre Lacazette – 5

Didn’t do enough after coming on in a unfamiliar attacking midfield role.

Nicolas Pepe – 5

Brought on to save the game but missed an absolute sitter to win it.

Dani Ceballos – 6

Almost scored a late winner, but the post rescued Burnley.
