Player Ratings: Leicester 1-3 Arsenal

The Gunners made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opener in the sixth minute. However, David Luiz equalised for Arsenal in the 39th minute with his header before Alexandre Lacazette completed the turnaround when he scored in the first-half injury time.

Nicolas Pepe put daylight between the two sides when he got his name on the scoresheet in the 52nd minute via a tap-in from close range.

Bernd Leno – 6.5

The German keeper had a couple of saves to make in the game but had an easy afternoon overall.

Cedric Soares – 7

Soares made some important interceptions for his side but struggled to influence the game in the attacking third.

David Luiz – 8.5

The Brazilian made a few crucial defensive contributions during the game and scored the equalising goal for Arsenal with his header in the first half.

Pablo Mari – 6.0

Mari read the danger quickly and was also tidy when passing the ball out from the back. slightly at fault for their goal.

Kieran Tierney – 7

He was solid defensively and he made a couple of decent runs with the ball and managed to create one good chance in the final third.

Granit Xhaka – 8.5

Bossed the midfield the whole game. Outstanding yet again.

Mohamed Elneny – 5.5

The Swiss international struggled to influence the game and got substituted after the hour mark.

Willian – 8

The Brazilian playmaker had one of his best games for the Gunners and created 2 of the goals.

Emile Smith Rowe – 6

He failed to make an impact in the final third and had to go off with an injury.

Nicolas Pepe – 7.5

Pepe was a constant menace for opposing defenders and came up with a goal that sealed the win. His work rate was much better too.

Alexandre Lacazette – 7

Lacazette led the line well and gave his team the all-important lead in the first-half stoppage time.


Martin Odegaard – 7

He was bright and inventive after coming on for the injured Smith-Rowe.

Thomas Partey – 6.5

Partey added some bite and steel to the Arsenal midfield. His partnership with impressive Xhaka might be the future of Arsenal midfield.
