Arsenal managed to shift a number of players with expiring contracts during the January window but there are still a few Arsenal contracts that need to be dealt with.
Arsenal contracts – Players out of contract in the summer:
David Luiz – Could be offered a new one-year deal but is likely to be asked to play more of a coaching role and accept less playing time.
Folarin Balogun – In demand across Europe and not being played at Arsenal until he signs a new deal that he won’t sign until he gets more playing time. Mikel Arteta is hopeful a deal can be struck.
Joseph Olowu – Effectively has left the club after agreeing a loan deal with Wealdstone until the end of the season which is when his contract expires.
Maty Ryan – End of loan. Ryan still has a further year on his Brighton contract so Arsenal will need to come to an agreement with the Seagulls if they wish to make this move permanent. Brighton do not want to keep him.
Martin Odegaard – End of loan. Real Madrid are adamant they do not want to sell Odegaard whose contract in Spain runs until 2023. Arsenal are hopeful of being able to strike a deal.
Dani Ceballos – End of loan. After two years on loan with Arsenal it would seem like it’s time for Ceballos to make a decision about his future. He’s under contract with Real Madrid until 2023.
Arsenal contracts – Players with one year left on their current Arsenal contracts:
Alexandre Lacazette – Lacazette is out of contract in 2022 and there is no talk of offering him a new one with Arsenal eyeing up a number of young strikers and the chance to clear Lacazette’s inflated wages from the books.
Mohamed Elneny – Will be sold in the summer if the club can find a buyer.
Dejan Iliev
Calum Chambers – Will be sold in the summer if the club can find a buyer.
Eddie Nketiah – It is unclear what is happening with Nketiah who has played 10 minutes of football since 19 December and hasn’t been in the last four Premier League squads.
Arsenal contracts – Players with two years left on their current Arsenal contracts:
Willian
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Bernd Leno
Granit Xhaka
Hector Bellerin
Reiss Nelson
Emile Smith Rowe – Is likely to get a new contract in the summer with a shirt number change and a substantial pay rise.
Arsenal players with three years left on their current Arsenal contracts:
Cedric Soares
Runar Alex Runarsson
Pablo Mari
Rob Holding
Kieran Tierney
Nicolas Pepe
Bukayo Saka
Gabriel Martinelli
Arsenal players with four years left on their current Arsenal contracts:
