The Gunners were reduced to nine men during the match at Molineux as both David Luiz and goalkeeper Bernd Leno were shown red cards.
There has been debate over the decision to send Luiz off, with the club appealing to the FA in an attempt to get his one-match suspension overturned.
That however was unsuccessful, meaning that he will be absent for the game against Villa.
Leno will also serve a suspension for the trip to Villa Park with Alex Runarsson likely to step in for the German.
The decision not to overturn Luiz’s red card came at the same time as the FA decided to overturn the red card shown to Southampton defender Jan Bednarek in the 9-0 defeat against Manchester United.
While agreeing that the decision to overturn Bednarek’s red was right, Match of the Day presenter and former striker Gary Lineker has pointed to the Luiz decision.
“Quite right too,” he wrote on Twitter. “Same should have applied to David Luiz.”
