Transfer Tattle - Schürle & Rogulic

Hello Gooners,

Thanks to a move from high school to university respectively leaving my hometown I wasn´t able to get involved as much as I would like to. Now almost everything is settled and I will do my best to guide you through all media rumours as January transfer orgy, sorry window, is around the corner.

Arsenal´s most recent performances have shown there is still a plenty of room for  improvement on all fronts (maybe except midfield). Jack is recovering very well and we can only hope he will stay fit since now to the rest of his career (if only it was possible). Capital One Cup is a great opportunity for our Young Guns to shine. Thomas Eisfield, Francis Coquelin, Ignasi Miquel, Serge Gnabry, Hector Bellerin to name just a few are waiting for their chance to get into Wenger´s plans for this and upcoming seasons.

I know that winter transfer window hasn´t started yet but there are already a few players connected with a possible move to Arsenal. Typical mix of youth international players with almost impossible rumours surrounding the likes of Benzema, Falcao etc. In my point of view we can expect a busy transfer window. Arsene Wenger might have changed his mind up about Chamakh but there are still loads of players who should leave the club. Please Dennis, let us sell or donate Squillaci to a club anywhere around the globe.

 Name: André Schürrle

Age: 21

Place of birth: Ludwigshafen, Germany

Height: 1.84 m (6 ft 0 in)

Weight: 74 kg

Position: Forward / Winger

Current club: Bayer Leverkusen

Estimated cost: £13-18 mil. (my guess)

Likelihood: 10%

Do we want him?: I think another attacking option would serve Arsenal well. Of course there are young talents like Zak Ansah and Chuba Akpom growing up but as it was said many times we need to live by today and not only think about future which is surely bright but not close enough to end our search for glory.  Schürle is one of the best talents of Bundes league and with recent acquisitions of German internationals Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski he might be tempt to join the Gunners. Even Germany national coach Joachim Löw is very pleased with his players doing well at Arsenal playing in the world´s best league.

 Name: Ante Roguljic

Age: 16

Place of birth: Croatia

Height: ??

Weight: ??

Position: Attacking and Central Midfielder

Current club: NK Adriatic Split (Croatia)

Estimated cost: £1.5-2 mil.

Likelihood: 15%

Do we want him?: There are not many Gooners who would heard of him until he was mentioned in English media. He seems like another young prodigy scoring 8 goals in 10 matches for Croatian U17 squad. I am not sure whether we need more midfielders as there is Thomas Eisfield, Serge Gnabry, Jon Toral, Kristoffer Olsson and many others coming through the ranks at our Academy.

...and some more TT:

Liverpool´s boss Brendan Rodgers is monitoring situation with Theo Walcott. Arsene Wenger said he wants the situation sorted by Christmas and I am sure he is not the only one who wants our Theo to stay at the club. Liverpool are said to offer Walcott a £100k a week deal but as far as I am concerned it wouldn´t be enough to let Theo forget about all his football dreams and joined Scousers.

I guess there are still many of you who are still reminding that great victory over Reading and every time you think about Theo´s/Carl´s goal on 4-4 it makes you smile. If you haven´t checked our latest blogs about this special event check this one by Lindsay (@GunnertalksLinz) and this one by Brian Fettner. Gavin Milligan´s (@gav_afc) bit about our great his history is also worth checking here.
