After a confidence draining encounter with Bayern Munich in the midweek this was a game we needed our big players to come up with goods:

Cazorla chose the wrong game to have one of his worst games for us. According to Wenger’s post-match interview he was feeling dizzy during the first half and had to be replaced during the break. My worry is that he played a similarly bad game in the midweek against Bayern Munich. Was he unwell that game too?

Alexis was untypically quiet, Ozil tried and tried without being convincing in the first half but came up with another brilliant assist in the second half to make it 6 assists in a row which is a Premier League record.

Mertesacker looked very wobbly and even slower. Is it time to try Koscielny – Gabriel pairing?

Second half was much better with Flamini replacing Cazorla and especially after Gibbs came on for out of sorts Campbell. I was impressed by the way he pushed on and deservedly scored our equaliser.

We still could have won this game with the clearer chances and if Giroud had his goal scoring head on.
