Newcastle 0 – 1 Arsenal

As if we needed reminding, the need of a top class striker was very evident in this game. Giroud – as good as he is – is not the World class striker we need for what we want to achieve this season and contrary to his claim, Walcott is not a central striker. 18 touches during his 69 minutes with the team having 74% of the possession tells its own story. If only 1 on target out of 22 shots, including 2 sitters by Walcott and one from Giroud doesn’t open Arsene Wenger’s tight wallet, nothing will. Nothing we can do now but hope for another deadline day miracle […]

Arsenal 0 – 0 Liverpool

Losing both our first choice center backs before a game of this importance, predictably led to a first half of defensive shambles! A strange decision by the boss to play Chambers against the Liverpool team with Benteke up front did not help. Monreal with Gibbs coming in for the left back position or maybe, even Debuchy would have been a better choice. All the talk about how the whole team performed terribly is way off the mark when your 2 replacement center backs play the way they did. The less said… the better for them. Please follow and like us:

Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Arsenal

This was a nervous affair; a game we had to win, not just for the 3 valuable points but to stop the inevitable fall out from media who were waiting like vultures jump on our failing. Alexis making his first start of the season should have scored in the opening stages, showing that despite all the effort, brilliant attitude, hunger and skill, he is still a little short of full match […]

Arsenal cannot afford to lose

I am still scratching my head and searching for answers as to why Arsenal would leave their most disappointing and disjointed performance this summer until when it matters most. This was a team who were hugely impressive in the Community Shield triumph which, although is not the best barometer for what will happen during the rest of the season, was a display that left many Gunners fans optimistic that Arsenal could avoid yet another slow start.  Please follow and like us:

I was lucky enough to miss the first game of the season as I was abroad. When I arrived back in London I found Gunner Kingdom in disarray which is understandable after all the hype and positivity during the pre-season preparations. Of course this was a game this Arsenal team should have won, but this is the nature of football: it is full of surprises, and it’s unpredictability and the strength of the Premiership means if the team is not 100% on it you get result like this time to time. The trick is to keep it to a minimum […]
