I can only describe start of this season as frustrating.
Frustrating that we are still not able to shake off this everlasting injury curse which has been haunting us for many seasons.
Frustrating that we almost are a team capable of achieving great things but for missing a top class DM …or two.
Frustrating that we seem to give our opponents a ‘stupid goal’ start in almost every game we played this season.
Saturday’s North London Derby was a perfect example of highlighting those problems we have; after having most of the possession and chances against a very mediocre team we found ourselves a goal down to an incredibly ‘stupid goal’ conceded. There was no big surprise that it was due to an error by our second choice defensive midfielder who had replaced our injured first choice one earlier.
To make matters worse we lost another important player before the 1st half was over: Ramsey pulling his hamstring…
It somehow was a surprise not to see Alexis’ name on the starting 11 team sheet, but that decision was fully justified by the man of the match performance by the player who replaced him: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Not only he scored the equaliser, his all-round performance was very good.
Another positive from the weekend’s encounter with Sp*rs was Chambers looking as comfortable at right back position as he did playing CB, and he nearly scored the winner with an missile of a shot from the edge of the box which narrowly cleared the top corner.
Under these circumstances a draw against an inferior team at home do not feel as bad as it should but the fact of the matter is we dropped another 2 very valuable points at home, and that is very FRUSTRATING!!!
